About the project
Agilitas acquired this project in March 2020 and reached commercial operation in January 2023. The project will generate electricity to power more than 1,800 homes annually. The energy-storage component of the project not only increases the total output of the array, but also provides peak-shaving capabilities to stabilize the grid’s power supply.
This project is part of the Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target (SMART) program and will serve as a Community Solar facility to provide local businesses with cost savings.
Beyond the economic savings, this project conserves 221 acres of land on and adjacent to the project site to protect and preserve critical wetlands. Agilitas has also made a significant contribution to the town’s arbor fund to plant new trees and improve and maintain an existing road.
